Inside the box you have your basic instructions and a free product card. But what we’re after here are these two things (Shown below). The nanoPad2 and the included USB Cable.

One of the first things you’ll notice about the NanoPad2 are the function buttons on the top right, which I’ll talk about in a bit.

The first thing you’ll want to do is attach the USB cable to the side of the NanoPad2 and plug the other end into your Mac. The Power light will turn on if you’ve done this correctly.

Once its plugged in, setup will be minimal. Essentially you just want to make sure it’s being recognized in the Application you make music in. For Garageband users, it will look like this. First select the Preferences Option underneath Garageband.

Then underneath the Audio / MIDI Tab, ensure that 1 MIDI Device is detected.

Now you can test out the NanoPad2. Choose an instrument and test it out. You’ll notice that the amount of pressure you put while hitting a button will effect loudness/intensity of the note.

The scene button on the right side controls the postion of the range of notes you can hit on a certain instrument. For example if i was on Scene two with a keyboard selected, I would be moving my hands down in postion on a real keyboard.

For different options on the touch pad part of the NanoPad2 if you select touch scale the pad comes into play. Additionally you can set the hold to continue a key after its been pressed.

As I mentioned beforehand, a product card is included in the box for some free software to test out with your NanoPad2 as well.

The NanoPad2 is great for quick beats and easy to sing to flows. If you want something more for melodies we also carry the NanoKey2. Again the same principles apply for hooking it up and getting started.
